Does the notion of a business advisor listening to a business owner's deepest concerns about his or her business' viability, or ability to grow, sound comforting or invasive to you? Hang on to your visceral response-today's successful business owner must be attuned to the rhythms and systems of business.

Articles will explore consulting services geared toward small and medium-sized companies that are financially, technologically, and/or managerially challenged. Other articles will look at business owner's dilemmas brought about by an explosion of successes requiring containment or expansion.

Services provided by a business consultant fall into two areas: (1) Internal Development Services (IDS), and (2) External Development Services (EDS). The IDS include: analysis of a company's operational systems, sales training, pipeline management, sales recruitment, raising venture and developmental capital, and employee training. The EDS include: advertising, marketing and brand strategy, customer relationship management programs, public relations, and website development and implementation.

Through the upcoming series of articles, it is the intention to gloss up the connotation of "Business Consultant" to the serious business owners. Another goal is to add a comfort level for the initiation of serious talk about the remedies for businesses with IDS and EDS problems. Personally tailored and professionally coached business consultancy should never insult, but rather give insights to enable growth personally and business wise.

Business Consultants or "Insultants"?

Does the idea of a business advisor listening to your deepest concerns about your business's viability, or ability to grow, sound comforting or invasive to you? Have you ever thought about using the services of a business consultant, but thought the cost would be prohibitive?

In this series of articles, business owners will be introduced to the many roles of the business consultant. The articles will explore consulting services geared toward small- and medium-sized companies that are financially, technologically, or managerially challenged. Other articles will look at the business owner's dilemmas brought about by an explosion of successes, requiring containment or expansion. We will address how all businesses grow and ways to secure capital for tools and resources concomitant with that growth.

Services provided by a business consultant fall into two areas: (1) Internal Development Services (IDS) and (2) External Development Services (EDS). IDS includes analysis of a company's operational systems, sales training, pipeline management, sales recruitment, raising venture and developmental capital, and employee training. EDS includes advertising, marketing and brand strategy, customer relationship management programs, public relations, and website development and implementation. The cost of consultancy can be geared to make financial sense for each unique business situation.

The intent of these articles is to provide the business owner with a comfort level for the initiation of serious discussion about remedies for businesses with IDS or EDS problems. Personally tailored and professionally coached business consultancy should never insult, but rather provide insight to enable business, professional, and even personal growth.
